Trying to catch up.....

I haven't posted anything for at least 2 months...yikes!!! I'm sure no one will read my blog since I am not very good at posting; but at least I am trying to record events so I can update my journal too :).

Our family has some exciting news....we are expecting baby #4 this summer. We are very excited and feel blessed as we anticipate another little one. The boys are excited (Kaylee has no clue) and have definite ideas about the gender (Austin wants a sister and Tyler a brother) and have even starting suggesting names. When we told the kids about the new baby, one of the first things out of Austin's mouth was "Oh great, now I have to take care of three kids!" It was so cute. He really does help out a lot with Tyler and Kaylee. I have been so sick for about 5 or 6 weeks and he is always worried about me and asks what he can do. I am now 17 weeks along and feeling better than I was during December and January. Here is an ultrasound taken at around 11-12 weeks.

On Sunday I decided to experiment with pigtails in Kaylee's hair. She actually held still and let me play. Her hair is getting so long and I love the curls so I usually don't put it up, but I think she looks really cute. She is such a girly girl.

Family Pictures

I have been really bad at blogging lately....sorry! Nichole, a friend of mine, took our family pictures on Thursday. I think they turned out really good considering the fact that Tyler was really sick and we had to carry him around the park. We just told him to sit and smile. He did pretty good! Here is the link to the slideshow she made with just some of the pictures. ENJOY!

Trick or Treat

This year a ghost, firefighter and princess could be found in Queen Creek. Lots of candy was collected from Wednesday's "trunk or treat" (that was hosted by our church) and of course on Halloween night. Kaylee had a fistful of candy in one hand and her treat bag in the other....she was not going to let go! Austin and Tyler couldn't wait to get home and count their candy and sample their yummy treats.

Now that Halloween has come and gone the focus is on Christmas. 18 days and counting until the lights come on (as of November 5).
Check out our website to see an example of the animated Christmas lights. My husband is so talented!!

The wonders of masking tape

So yesterday Austin decided to wear these jeans to school; however, his school has a dress code (no holey..holy ??? pants). He knew he couldn't wear them this way so he came up with a creative way to "fix" his jeans. TAPE!! Of course!! I thought it was a very CLEVER idea and very CUTE too. The problem-solving abilities of my 7 1/2 year old amaze me! He's so smart...and handsome...and athletic...and kind....I could go on and on. Humor me, okay?

2 nights here is almost as much as our mortgage....what the heck?

Our 10 year anniversary is still 6 months away, but we decided to look online at room rates for the Ritz-Carlton in Laguna Niguel, CA. Why there, you ask? Brian proposed to me on the beach below that Ritz-Carlton. After accepting his PROPOSAL we thought it would be fun to come and stay for our 10 year anniversary. It sounded so far away and figured by then we would be raking in the dough. Unfortunately that "money tree" that was supposed to be huge and full is still a little shrub.

After checking prices on the web we were blown away and very disappointed that two night there would be like paying our mortgage for one month. Can you believe it? I guess we will have to save our pennies and maybe for our 50th anniversary we can go. By that time we probably won't enjoy ourselves as much because we will be OLD.

If you know a way to find cheaper rate on the internet PLEASE, PLEASE let me know.

basketball*time-out*jimmy choos

Austin just finished his first ever basketball season. I think we found HIS sport. He loved getting the ball and once he did he wasn't going to let go of it until he made it to the basket so he could shoot. Actually all the kids wanted the ball so they could do the same thing! It was so fun to watch these 6-7 year olds play ball. Austin was pretty aggressive offensively AND defensively. We need to get this boy his own basketball hoop. It was a fun two months and he is excited to get his trophy at the award ceremony this coming Saturday. Thanks to all the family who planned their trips according to his game schedule. He loved having you there. Oh yeah....I can't forget the best part of every game! After every basket Austin made he would look over to his cheerleading section with the HUGEST smile on his face and a big THUMBS UP sign! Classic Austin. He doesn't love attention does he?

I had to take this picture and include it in my post because it was so sweet. One day Tyler was put in time-out and after a minute or two I look over and Kaylee is sitting next to him keeping him company.

Every girl has to have a pair of Jimmy Choos and Kaylee is starting early! Okay, so the shoes I wore to church today weren't made by Jimmy but a girl can try! While I was making dinner tonight my feet hurt so I took my shoes off and Kaylee decided to try them on. I think every woman has a picture of herself trying on her mom's shoes....it was so fun to have MY DAUGHTER try on my shoes. This was a must have picture! By the way....this girl is now starting to pose for the camera by putting such a HUGE smile on her face (see top picture). Such a ham!

So you think you can.....

....stand in the fridge and let out all the cold air?

That's what Kaylee likes to do. Anytime she hears the fridge or freezer door open she stops what she is doing and tries to get to the fridge before it closes. Here is a picture of her in action.

Pondering what to eat!

"I'll have grapes, a sippie cup of milk and some bread, please!"

.......DANCE?

So we have the finale of "So You Think You Can Dance" on our DVR still and I am under strict orders (from Austin) not to delete it. He watches parts of it several times a week and dances along during the group dances. He tells me that he is dancing like Twitch (his favorite dancer on the show) and it is hilarious. He rolls around the floor a little, then does some sumersaults and other "creative" moves that I can't describe; you have to see it in person! Here are a few shots of the kids dancing. Tyler and Kaylee try to keep up and they have their own unique style of dance too (not sure what to call it).
